In My Arms You Shall Hide Extras
While writing IMAYSH (yeesh, why’d I have to pick such a long name?) I ended up listening to a lot of heavy metal and post-grunge music. I’ve selected a couple of songs that fit the general vibe of the story and have a similar “sound,” along with lyrical content that reflects the themes of the story (hello, Slow Chemical and Vermillion).
If I could add any other songs to this list, it’d probably be full of Subway to Sally and Deftones. Sleep Token has also wormed it’s way into my system. Pretty sure they hand you a Sleep Token Vinyl record when you sign up to be a dark romance author.
Special shout out to Jutes, though, who I think deserves a lot of love.
Wayside’s Parallax Error practically called to me across the alt-rock sea. The song pretty much feels like it’s made for Dorian (when I heard the put me in a jar lyric, I rushed to write it down).
Don’t mind me, I’m just completely in love with this piece of Kittie and Dorian! I swear I could stare at this all day if you let me.
The artist, Chocological, is amazingly talented (if you look me up on socials no other reason than to find this talented artist tagged on my posts, I wouldn’t be mad)!
I’ll likely commission more work focused on these two in the future - along with other couples (and a throuple!) from my upcoming works.
